Espressist Blackbird - AICA 2017 Silver Medal
A syrupy espresso, floral on the nose with a flavour of dark English toffee, a yellow fruit acidity and caramelised orange sweetness.
As a latte it offers a richness, complexity and depth, with a heavy malt chocolate flavour and subtler notes of biscuit and caramel.
Blackbird was designed by combining the best elements from both the specialty and traditional movements in coffee. The Colombian component is a darker more developed roast, which offers food strength and character in milk drinks, while the Ethiopian Sidamo brings in depth, complexity and sweetness. The Brazil acts as a binder, bringing both of these flavours together.
Dosage : 22-23g of coffee (Although, depending on the size of the baskets, we do have one customer using up to 26g for a very powerful split shot...)
Extraction : 32-35 seconds (based on using a Mythos 1 Grinder)
Extraction Yield : 42-44grams
